Schedule of Events for 2000
Memorial Day through Labor Day - Church services will be held on Sunday mornings on the patio, lounge or gameroom, followed by breakfast on the patio unless it is raining or the weather is threatening. Wagon rides with Honey Bear, children's movies in the lounge, and bingo on Saturday evenings are normal every week activities as is Honey Bear's Saturday Night Best Shot Disc Golf at 10:00 p.m.
Memorial Day Weekend - May 26th-28th
Three night reservations only, no cancellations, no refunds, full payment due with reservation. Pool opens for the season, DJ, wagon rides, Church service, breakfast, Honey Bear's Night Disc Golf,, first pot-luck of the season. Our regular activity schedule begins. Bring your "stuff" and decorate your bikes for Honey Bear's annual parade through the park.
June 2-4
A late Mother's Day celebration. Moms be prepared for anything this weekend, you just never know what Honey Bear has planned for you.
June 9-11
Honey Bear says "You will have to be here to find out what is going on this weekend". (Disc golf closed on Saturday for tournament)
June 16-18
Father's Day weekend - Dad's and kids to spend quality time together. Moms get to relax, Dad's get to do stuff with the youngsters. Fishing contests for Dad and kids, and a Father's Day makeover. Special breakfast on Sunday morning after church service.
June 23-25
Chicken weekend - chicken clucking, chicken walking, chicken dancing and best of all chicken BBQ ($2.00 adults, $1.00 kids 5-9, under 5 no charge), we prepare the chicken on the grill, please bring a dish that will feed your family + 2. Wear your best Sunday feathers to dinner...may the best chicken win.
June 30 - July 4 ***Happy Birthday America***
4 night reservation only, no cancellations, no refunds, full payment with reservation. No fireworks of any kind (this includes sparklers, firecrackers...etc.) are permitted in the campground - this is a State Board of Health rule! DJ, bike parade, site decorations, family competitions, horseshoes, and a pot luck (bring a dish to feed your family + 2)
July 7-9 **HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY BEAR**
We can't tell you what we are doing this weekend, cause we don't want Honey Bear to know what surprises are planned.
July 21-23
Honey Bear's 5th Annual Car Show and CHRISTMAS IN JULY! Decorate your site, visit with Santa, decorate the tree, string popcorn and join in a special Christmas potluck on the patio. Bring a traditional Christmas dish to pass. Contact us for more information.
July 28-30
Family Competition weekend - volleyball, softball, mini-golf, horseshoes, disc golf, and whatever else Honey Bear can dream up to get some action going! Get lots of rest during the week...you will need it this weekend!
August 4-6
Pet appreciation weekend - bring your favorite
pet (stuffed ones only please) for a pet parade. Dress up your "pet", have
your "pet" do tricks, anything that will make your "pet" be different
from the rest. Be creative. For your live pets, grooming tips, questions and
answer time, tips that may make your pet behave the way you would like them to.
Always be kind to animals, tender loving care goes a long way for pets as well as
humans.
August 11-13
Hawaiian Weekend - Decorate your campsite to get into the "South Pacific" mood. Wear your grass skirt and join the hula contest. Don't know how to hula? Neither does Honey Bear. Is there someone out there that can teach a bear to dance? Saturday evening there will be a luau on the pool deck. We supply the roasted pork ($3.00 adults, $2.00 kids ages 5-9, kids under 5 free) please bring a dish to feed your family + 2. Disc golf will be closed for tournament.
August 18-20
Flea Market - Saturday, at your site. Bring things to sell and buy some treasures to take home with you. Should be lots of fun. There will, of course, be planned activities for the kids while you sell your wares.
August 25-27
Rendezvous- 1840 and earlier encampment, enjoy food, fun, and history. Participate in games the pioneers enjoyed and see history re-created for you.
Labor Day Weekend - September 1-4
Three night reservations only, no cancellations, no refunds, full payment due with reservation. Fantastic weekend planned...and a great way to have some fun before the summer is over. Some of the activities planned are - Getting even with Ranger Bob, DJ, and many more surprises.
October 13-15
Halloween weekend at Honey Bear Campground! Haunted forest, costume parade, trick or treat, wagon rides, fortune teller (sort of), DJ, and Sunday morning breakfast on the patio (weather permitting). Don't forget to bring Halloween decorations to "dress up" your site. Prizes will be awarded for the best site decorations.
Although autumn has arrived you don't have to forget camping until next summer. We are open all year and some of the best camping weather is yet to come. Electric is on in the park all year long and the main building is fully operational. Come out and enjoy nature and the changing seasons.
